About La Grande

Nestled among the Blue Mountains and the Eagle Cap Wilderness, La Grande Oregon is located in the center of the largest fully-enclosed valley in North America. The town itself is approximately 13,000 people and is a nationally accredited Tree Town.

Eastern Oregon University and the numerous boutiques, coffee shops, dive bars, jam sessions, lakes, rivers, drifters and train cars help to define the cultural landscape. It’s pretty alright here.

Here’s a fancy Google Map just for you.

Rickshaw Grimshaw Taxi Service
When the parties spill out into the streets, keep an eye out for a pair of colorful rickshaws. These puppies are designed to give a smooth, late night cruise—between venues or after evening shows. Check ’em out online, and make sure to tip your driver!

You can venture up to MERA (Mt. Emily Recreation Area) where you’ll find expansive views and great trails for hiking. If you’re feeling like a drive through the countryside, head on out to Ladd Marsh Wildlife Area for some great birding and more beautiful views.

Throw a round of disc at Eastern Oregon University’s 9-hole frisbee golf course. Take the old Hwy.30 to the neighobring town of Union for some history by way of Hot Lake Springs—a bronze foundry, gallery, lodging and dining establishment sitting on top of a natural hot spring. It’s a beautiful spot, and some people claim it’s haunted (dun dun dun).
